Mammoth California Staff Accommodations
Welcome to the Mammoth Mountain Staff Accommodations Home page.
We are proud to offer a variety of housing options to our employees, both
seasonal and year round. Mammoth is a four-season resort and it is important
to us to be able to offer you a friendly place to live. Whether it is your
first winter season working with us, or you are a seasoned veteran who chooses
to stay in the Eastern Sierra on a long-term basis, we offer what you are
looking for.
We endeavor to make the registration and housing selection process as simple
as possible. We believe that we offer affordable options to suit your individual
needs. If you have roommate requests or have transportation concerns, we
are able to look in to your specific requirements and do our best to match
you up with the details that will work best for you.
To begin the process, we ask that you request housing from your hiring
manager. With over 600 beds in our inventory, you should have no trouble
getting what you need for the season. Once you let your boss know that you
need a place to live, they will request a "password" for you, which will
allow you to access the online application and get your information to us
immediately. An explanatory email will be sent to you, along with important
information regarding registration, check-in, parking, payment and other
pertinent details. If at any time you have questions, feel free to call our
office or send us an email. We want you to feel comfortable with our program
and will have answers to all your questions.
Remember, the town of Mammoth Lakes is only four and a half square miles,
so no matter where you end up living, you are not only within walking distance
of local businesses and services, but free shuttle bus stops as well. No
need to bring your car with you, as you'll find our transportation system
here is really efficient and saves you from paying high fuel prices and shoveling
your car out after one of our "big dumps" of snow. Parking is limited in
our town and in Employee Housing, so it is important to register early with
us if in fact you do plan to bring a car.
- In order to submit a housing application, you will be required to pay
a $50 application deposit. This deposit will be collected online and does
require a credit card or debit card.
- You must be at least 18 years old to live in staff housing.
- Housing options range from hotel-type rooms to apartments and condominiums,
with rent from $13 to $21 per person per night, utilities included. All our
housing is "shared accommodations, we do not have studio apartments
or 1 bedroom units. Call our office (760) 934.3717 regarding limited
couples and family options. Minimum stay is two weeks.
- All housing units are furnished. Most units have twin beds and the necessary
furniture required for the type of unit. All units have cable TV either
in the room or in the adjoining common area. Units with kitchens are supplied
with pots, pans, dishes and silverware. Sheets, blankets and pillows are
available upon request at check-in for a $35 rental fee. If not returned,
an additional $35 will be added to your account. You will need to supply
your towels, alarm clock and any other amenities not listed here. Internet
service is not provided, but you may purchase the service
for your residence on your own through our local Internet providers. There
are plenty of "hot spots" in town along with Internet café’s
and a public library, so you won’t be out of touch!
- Residents must abide by Mammoth's communal living standards. No pets
are allowed in employee housing at any time, and all units are non-smoking
and Drug Free. We also offer "Alcohol Free" housing at one
of our locations. Mammoth Employee Housing staff reserves the right
to enter these units during the season to perform checkout inspections,
bed-space availability checks and safety related maintenance.
- The housing office is located at 60 Lake Mary Road. Staff Accommodations
winter office hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, beginning November 7. Employees
arriving in Mammoth after our scheduled hours of operation will need to arrange
for alternative lodging for the night and then check in the following morning
when we open for business.
- When you arrive at 60 Lake Mary Road to check into housing, you will need to
pay the following: A $250 refundable security deposit (assuming you paid
the $50 application deposit, which will already be in your "account",
which will give you $300 as a total security deposit) plus a $30 non-refundable
application fee. In addition, if you have a car, you will need to pay for
a parking permit. Parking permits are $100 for the season and are non-refundable.
Summer parking permits are available at a discounted rate and can be purchased
from June 1 to November 1. We accept cash, travelers' checks, bank drafts
and credit cards. Another accepted form of payment is "Mammoth
Bucks." These "dollars" are rewards given to employees
by their employers, for a "job well done." Save up your Mammoth
Bucks to make a rent payment, it’s like getting free money!
- Rent is deducted from your paycheck on a weekly basis. If you don't work
enough hours for rent to be paid completely from your check, it is your
responsibility to come to the office and keep your account current. You
may also pay your rent in advance.
- A parking permit is required at all housing locations. Whenever possible
we suggest that you not bring a car with you--permits are limited and not
guaranteed. Transportation to work and around town is free via shuttle bus
service.
- Other Housing Alternatives
Housing in the Mammoth and June Lake communities is limited,
and an early housing search in the area is strongly recommended. There
may also be availability in the private sector. Listings of accommodation
rentals can be found in the Mammoth Times newspaper, a weekly publication
that is updated every Wednesday afternoon. You can view these rental opportunities
online at www.mammothtimes.com/.
