Mammoth California Staff Accomodations
Welcome to Mammoth Mountain Ski Area's employee housing site.
Each individual department within our company gives out housing
for MMSA's seasonal employees. Each department is given access to a limited
amount of beds. It is then up to each department to determine which of the
employees they hire will be given a password that allows access to the housing
application. In order to access the Housing Application, you will need to
contact the department that hired you and obtain a password. Once you have
this password, you can proceed to the "Housing Application" link found on
this page.
Mammoth Mountain continues to make an increased commitment by offering
housing to a large portion of its seasonal employees. Our current inventory
of over 600 beds offers a wide variety of comfortable and inexpensive housing
within the town of Mammoth Lakes.
Eligibility, Deposit and Payment Information
- Housing is available to seasonal, entry-level employees and space is
limited. Each hiring department has a predetermined number of housing spaces
available for distribution. In order to access the housing application you
will need to be given one of those bed spaces from your hiring department.
- In order to submit a housing application, you will be required to pay
a $50 application deposit. This deposit will be collected online and does
require a credit card, debit card or a PayPal account.
- You must be at least 18 years old to live in staff housing.
- Housing options range from hotel-type rooms to apartments and condominiums,
with rent from $9 to $21 per person per night, utilities included. No couples
or family living arrangements are available. Minimum stay is two weeks.
- All housing units are furnished. Most units have twin beds and the necessary
furniture required for the type of unit. All units have cable TV either
in the room or in the adjoining common area. Units with kitchens are supplied
with pots, pans, dishes and silverware. Sheets, blankets and pillows are
available upon request at check-in for a $35 rental fee. If not returned,
an additional $35 will be added to your account. You will need to supply
your towels, alarm clock and any other amenities not listed here.
- Residents must abide by Mammoth's communal living standards. No pets
are allowed in employee housing at any time, and all units are non-smoking.
Mammoth Employee Housing staff reserves the right to enter these units during
the season to perform check-out inspections, bed-space availability checks
and safety related maintenance.
- Once an employee has processed in at the Human Resources office, he or
she can check into employee housing. The housing office is located at 1566 Tavern Road. The office is open 9AM-6PM
daily and closed on major holidays.
- When you arrive at Tavern Road to check into housing, you will need to pay
the following: A $250 refundable security deposit (assuming you paid the
$50 application deposit, that will already be in your account , that will
give you $300 as a total security deposit) plus a $30 non-refundable application
fee. In addition, if you have a car, you will need to pay for a parking
permit. Parking permits are $100 for the season and are non-refundable.
Summer parking permits are available at a discounted rate and can
be purchased from June 1 to November 1. We accept cash, travelers' checks,
bank drafts and credit cards.
- Rent is deducted from your paycheck on a weekly basis. If you don't work
enough hours for rent to be paid completely from your check, it is your
responsibility to come to the office and keep your account current.
- A parking permit is required at all housing locations. Whenever possible
we suggest that you not bring a car with you--permits are limited and not
guaranteed. Transportation to work and around town is free via shuttle bus
service (winter season only).
- Other Housing Alternatives
Housing in the Mammoth and June Lake communities is limited,
and an early housing search in the area is strongly recommended. There
may also be availability in the private sector. Listings of accommodation
rentals can be found in the Mammoth Times newspaper, a weekly publication
that is updated every Wednesday afternoon. You can view these rental opportunities
online at www.mammothtimes.com/.
